چکیده

This work exploited the use of electrical impedance tomography (EIT) with one-step difference Gaussian-Newton (GN) algorithm to detect different types damage on unidirectional carbon fibre/epoxy composite laminates. The major challenge concerning implementation EIT materials has do their anisotropy. To assess this issue, study was conducted fibre composites having layup configurations degrees anisotropy: a quasi-isotropic layup, approximate as much possible these layered an isotropic material, and unbalanced further degree Damage detection in highly anisotropic laminates is for technique, which not been assessed before literature. Severe damage, form through-thickness holes, created diameters at two locations specimen evaluate sensitivity technique size its capacity multiple damages. showed progressive decrease conductivity diameter holes increased. Impact damages severities were also created. able distinguish shapes identified elongated shaped damages, produced by impact events energies, However, images overestimate damaged area, compared non-destructive ultrasonic inspections. revealed central area specimens, but well-defined shape could be distinguished.

Applications of Electrical Impedance Tomography in Neurology

Introduction: Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is a non-invasive technique utilized in various medical applications, including brain imaging and other neurological diseases. Recognizing the physiological and anatomical characteristics of organs based on their electrical properties is one of the main applications of EIT, as each variety of tissue structure has its own electrical characteris...

Using a planar EIT as a Structural Health Monitoring method to detect and evaluate the damage to CFRP composite used in aerospace structures

Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) as an imaging technique producing a 2D or 3D impedance image (conductivity or impedivity) of the subject under test. It can be used for delamination detection and evaluating the damage location, size, strain and severity for Structure Health Monitoring (SHM) of aerospace composites i.e. Carbon-fibrereinforced polymer (CFRP) composites. Keywords—Electrical I...

Electrical Impedance Tomography

Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is a technology developed to image the electrical conductivity distribution of a conductive medium. The technology is of interest because of its low cost and also because the measurement of the electrical conductivity brings direct information about the composition of the conductive medium. Because the ground is conductive to a certain extent, the technolog...
